Gail Spencer Torkelson and Liz Julian Tuggle have been named Norwich Historical Society’s volunteers of the year for 2016. Gail and Liz own Spencer Julian Antiques and bring their knowledge of antiques and connections to the antique world to NHS every September for the Norwich Antiques Show. They founded the Norwich Antiques Show and have been hosting and coordinating it for 12 years. They recruit the dealers, coordinate publicity, arrange for the tent, feed the dealers, all while hosting their own booth. Over the years, this important fundraiser has grown to become an important component of the Society’s fundraising and proceeds directly support the education and preservation work of the Society. This is the 4th year that we have honored a volunteer or, in this case, volunteers for the hard work and dedication to NHS.
