Norwich University turns 200 this year. Our exhibit examines the impact of having a military university located in the center of Norwich. Imagine cadets marching up and down the street, skirmishing with Dartmouth students, and practicing their cannonading and musketry. Picture sons of slave holders shopping in the local store where anti-slavery pamphlets are for sale. We don’t have a lot of artifacts from this era, but many diaries, letters, and pamphlets survive to tell the tales.
